The longest river in Alaska, the Yukon originates
in British Columbia. The River traverses through interior
Alaska and makes its way to the Bering Sea, off the coast of
western Alaska.
Yukon River Salmon have a high amount
of Omega-3 oil content due to the extraordinary buildup of
oils needed to sustain them for the more than 2,300 mile swim
to their spawning grounds. It takes a vibrant and lively
salmon to make it up the river against the strong current.
Originating in British Columbia, Canada the Yukon River
traverses through interior Alaska and makes its way to the
Bering Sea off the coast of western Alaska. The Yukon
river salmon has a high oil content that is not only healthy
for you, but provides a rich, unforgettable flavor. Prior
to their return, the salmon spend three to five years in the
Bering Sea.
The high oil content developed along their
feeding routes is needed for the salmon spawning in Canada. In
addition to the Canadian spawning grounds, there are numerous
pristine spawning grounds in Alaska that support the Chinook
or King Salmon and the Coho or Silver
Salmon.
