'PARTY' ON If you're looking for a soundtrack for your New Year's Eve celebration, search no further than Party City. The non-stop fun takes over Ch. 39 through New Year's Day. SIRIUS is also broadcasting live concerts from all over the country, including Daryl Hall & John Oates on The Blend, Akon on The Heat, Southside Johnny on E Street Radio, Gregg Allman on Deep Tracks and more. There will also be live broadcasts from The Metropolitan Opera (on Metropolitan Opera Radio) and NY dance club Pacha (on BPM). START 2009 ON E STREET On New Year's Day, E Street Radio will play the previous night's Southside Johnny concert from Red Bank, New Jersey. After that, keep the music rolling with recordings of two of Bruce Springsteen's shows from his 2001 run of holiday concerts. For these special shows, he was backed by The Max Weinberg 7 and was joined by several E Street Band members as well as Southside Johnny, Bruce Hornsby and Elvis Costello. 2009 will be a great year for Bruce fans (the new album Working on a Dream is due out January 27), so start it out on E Street Radio! YOU ASKED, WE LISTENED — BACKSPIN AND THE STROBE RETURN TO SIRIUS By very popular demand, channels dedicated to old-school hip-hop and classic disco will be returning to SIRIUS: Backspin and The Strobe will be back on SIRIUS on January 15. The Strobe will bring listeners back to the days of Studio 54, playing the biggest dance hits of the 1970s and 1980s, while Backspin will feature the best of old school rap and hip-hop and will include shows hosted by hip-hop legends including Afrika Bambaataa and Monie Love. |
