Dear Friend:

What are you doing in the next 15 minutes? Can you take a few of those minutes and contact your legislator on an issue that you care about?

At long last the Historic Preservation Incentive Program is up for a vote in the State House either late this afternoon or tomorrow!

House Bill 42 was moved out of the House Appropriations Committee yesterday and is on the full House agenda for second consideration TODAY.  This means that the bill could have final passage by the HOUSE as early as TOMORROW!

This legislation will provide tax credits to commercial historic rehabilitation projects and grants to homeowners for rehabilitation of private homes.  Tax credits of $500,000 per commercial project and grants of $15,000 per private residence will be available to historic properties (those over 50 years of age) located in local and national historic districts and Main Street and Elm Street communities.

We need you to contact your House Representative TODAY to urge them to support HB 42.

Please e-mail, phone or fax your Representative and tell them how important this bill is to your community and to economic development and job creation in your area.  If you have a specific example of a building that would benefit from this program, please share that as well.  This is legislation that will pass only with your direct grassroots involvement.  Your Representative needs to hear from YOU!

To find out who how to contact your Representative, go to this website:
http://www.legis.state.pa.us/index.cfm and enter your zip code in the upper right hand corner.

Please do it now!  We need everyone's help!

Thank you!

Judy Schwank
