Readers may recall AlterNet's efforts last fall to raise awareness about Georgia death row prisoner Troy Anthony Davis. Davis has come close to being executed three times in less than two years, despite overwhelming evidence that he is an innocent man. "I want you to know that the trauma placed on me and my family as I have now faced execution and the death chamber three times is more punishment that most can bear," Davis has said. Now, he faces the alarming possibility of yet another execution date, after a federal court rejected his most recent -- and likely final -- appeal on April 16th. "To execute Davis, in the face of a significant amount of proffered evidence that may establish his actual innocence, is unconscionable and unconstitutional," wrote dissenting judge, Judge Rosemary Barkett. The injustice in the Troy Davis case must not stand. Join AlterNet's Take Action campaign to find out what you can do to prevent a deadly miscarriage of justice.
