WINDOWS E-READER HAS COLOR DISPLAY
Fujitsu has announced pending sales of an electronic book reader that
works in color, yet features power efficiency similar to Amazon's
monochrome Kindle 2. The "Flepia" has an eight-inch screen, displays up
to 260,000 colors, includes WiFi and Bluetooth, and runs Windows CE 5.0.

WINDOWS PHONE READS TO VISUALLY IMPAIRED
Verizon announced a Windows Mobile smartphone that converts on-screen
text to "highly intelligible" speech. Intended for the visually
impaired, and equipped with a QWERTY keyboard, the "Motorola MOTO Q9c
with Talks" can make calls or open applications via speech recognition.

RUGGED HANDHELDS RUN WINDOWS MOBILE
Motorola has announced two new handheld computers that incorporate 3.5G
cellular connectivity, GPS receivers, WiFi, Bluetooth, IrDA ports, and
1D barcode scanners. The "FR68" and "FR6000" run Windows Mobile 6.1 on
624MHz Marvell PXA312 CPUs, and resist three-foot drops to concrete.

GET A $5500 WINDOWS PHONE WHILE THEY LAST

PND USES SIRF'S ARM11 SOC
YF International announced a Windows CE PND (portable navigation device)
with WiFi, plus Bluetooth and TMC (traffic message receiver) options.
Powered by an ARM11 application processor from GPS specialist SiRF, the
"80-T1" boasts a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, and 2GB or 4GB of storage.

THE SMALLEST WINDOWS XP PC EVER?
CompuLab is readying a Windows XP PC that is smaller than three CD
cases, draws six Watts, and costs $400. The Fit-PC2 packs a 1.1GHz or
1.6GHz Atom processor, 160GB hard drive (or SSD), and DVI/HDMI video
into a passively cooled case.

Microsoft announced three finalists in its "Sparks Will Fly" contest,
