A Note from Linda:
Hi Criss,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
I know some of you live in warmer climates, but we're having almost blizzard conditions in the Northwest ... very unusual for us!
Whenever it gets this cold I think about all the things I'm thankful for:
* a warm house with a fireplace
* a sweet husband who builds me a fire
* a warm, fuzzy pussycat to curl up next to me
* an old fashioned hair dryer (the kind with a long hose) to warm up my bed when I first crawl in
* the warm love of family and friends
...which brings me to something else I'm thankful for.
I'm Thankful For You
I had a chance today to see your friendship and loyalty in action.
There was a post on someone else's forum by a member who had tried to sign up to be a Scrapper's Guide Forum member but had been denied access.
Unfortunately, our system to control the spambots that are plaguing all web forums these days occasionally rejects a legitimate person.
Several of you wrote to assure her that she would be taken care of if she wrote to us, and that we aren't the kind of place that arbitrarily denies people access.
Thank you for believing the best about Scrapper's Guide and helping others out when they need it. I feel so blessed having friends like you!
Update On Digital Scrapbooking Magazine
The Digital Scrapbooking blog recently had this to say about the future of their magazine:
"While we're saddened that, due to the current economic conditions, the February-March issue will be the last printed version of our magazine, we're very excited to announce that the tutorials and inspiration you've counted on from DSM will continue in electronic format."
The first version of their e-newsletter goes out December 23. Send an email to webmaster@ckmedia.com and write "subscribe me to Digital Scrapbooking's e-newsletter" in the subject line.
It wasn't clear to me from the post whether there would be a cost, but you can at least sign up to find out what they plan to do.
Tip Of The Week: All In A Row
Sara Horton's Tip of the Week (below) teaches you several ways to line up all your elements so they're perfectly straight on your layouts. Ahhh, digital! I love how it simplifies a task like this!
Love and scrapbooking success,

December Premier: Curves And Bling
Lesson 2: Glint Brushes
by Linda Sattgast
Some pages were just meant to be shiny! One of the best ways to shine up a page is to add glints of light.
In this lesson you'll learn how to create a light glint, turn it into a Photoshop brush, and use it on a winter wonderland page.
QuickAlbums
Designer kits now come with a set of beautiful page templates (QuickPages) that will help you create an album FAST!
We're calling this new feature QuickAlbums. It's made with the featured kit so you have the flexibility to create additional matching pages.

The frosty blues and greens in the beautiful Silver Bells kit, created by our December Premier Designer Kristin Cronin-Barrow, will make scrapbooking a breeze.
This extra 'cool' kit is stuffed with tags, buttons, snowflakes, ornaments, bows and decorative wires to name a few. But don't think you need to live in a snowy climate to enjoy this beautiful kit. There are lots of other ways you can use it to scrap your pages!
This kit is included in the December Digital Scrapper Premier Issue.

Tip of the Week:
All In A Row
by Sara Horton
One of my favorite things about digital scrapbooking is the ability to place elements precisely where they look best on a page.
When you want to line up several items on your scrapbook page, Photoshop and Photoshop Elements include a few shortcuts which make it easy. You don't have to "eyeball it" or pull out a ruler to get your elements in a straight row any more.
