|

Most Hindi general entertainment channels have said that the need of the hour is to be ‘rigorous’ in watching the cash outflow of the company. However, newcomer Colors is clear that the channel wouldn’t make any “knee-jerk” reactions that could “slow down its momentum”. Most channels are confident that they would be able to make it through the current situation – the better channels would survive the bubble burst.

‘TAG is media neutral, and that’s
the difference!’
The reckless invaders arriveth! The story of creative
agencies increasingly coming out of their fold
to do more continues. This time around, it’s
McCann Erickson that has announced the roll out
of ‘TAG’ in India. Interestingly,
despite the clutter all agencies label themselves
as differentiators. And TAG is no different with
respect to that. Nonetheless, as the advertising
pie continues to fragment in India, for McCannWorld
Group, it is time to do its bit for TAG - the
much-touted New Age communication agency that
won two Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions International
Festival 2008 In a freewheeling chat with Rishi
Vora, Prasoon Joshi speaks more about

| IRS
UNPLUGGED
The
IRS is back with a bang, and more. The Indian
Readership Survey (IRS) has released its latest
round of figures, Round 2 2008. Much like it is
after any other round, the industry is all hassled
up this time as well, and there are a few new
reasons that add to the grievances. The publication
houses look as worried as ever because readership
trends have continued the decline – there
are a few exceptions that buck the trend. Their
patience was further tested when the Media Research
User’s Council (MRUC) and Hansa Research
decided to make Total Readership (TR) the main
metric of the IRS software for any analysis. Hitherto,
the main metric was Average Issue Readership (AIR).
The publications are taking their time in understanding
the data in its new form. At least till the time
impact was going in print, there was not much
market feedback on the data in this round.
