India's leading business news channel CNBC-TV18, along with India's leading management portal MBAUniverse.com and global research agency TNS, have announced the CNBC-TV18 'A of B Ranking' on Saturday, November 8, 2008.
According to the Rankings released on CNBC TV 18 today, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A) has been crowned as India's # 1 B-school. Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM B) and Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM L) has been ranked as the # 2 & # 3 B-schools in India.
Delhi NCR bases Management Development Institute (MDI) has edged out a few IIMs and other top B-schools to claim the # 4 position.
In a first of its kind research and analysis, the 'A of B Ranking' survey looks at three different viewpoints to present the complete 360 degree picture on which are India's leading B-schools. The first and most important is a rigorous data-driven analysis using information and data directly from IIMs and other 90+ B-schools. This data was analyzed by global research agency TNS to prepare a Quantitative Ranking of India's Top B-schools.
Also, since perceptions of Recruiter's and management community matter too, perception data on India's Top B-schools is also analysed. Over 5,000 stakeholders participated in this perception poll on MBAUniverse.com. The perception data was also analyzed by TNS. The perception data analysis offers a lot of interesting trends.
Going by the Quantitative Survey, while IIM A, IIM B, IIM L and MDI are top 4 B-schools, Jamshedpur based Xavier's Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) complete the prestigious top-5 slots. Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM C) is ranked at # 6. The real surprise in the Quantitative Rankings comes in from New Delhi based International Management Institute (IMI) which is ranked at # 8. See quantitative survey ranking table below:
