Member Previews: Joan Miró: Painting and Anti-Painting 1927–1937
Wednesday, October 29–Saturday, November 1, during Museum hours

In 1927 Joan Miró declared, "I want to assassinate painting." This exhibition illuminates the individual and intensely innovative character of Miró's challenge to painting by focusing on twelve series of works the artist made over the course of a single, transformative decade.


Members-Only Viewing: Van Gogh and the Colors of the Night
Saturday, October 11, 6:30–9:30 p.m.

The New York Times calls Van Gogh and the Colors of the Night "a revelation." Enjoy the exhibition at a Members-Only Viewing. Present your membership card in the Museum's main lobby for entrance. Member guest admission tickets will be available for purchase. No refreshments will be served; however, The Bar Room at The Modern will be open for dinner or drinks. Please be aware that this exhibition is small and a short wait may be required before viewing.

Opening Night Preview Party: Eighteenth Annual IFPDA Print Fair
Wednesday, October 29, 5:00–9:00 p.m.

We're delighted to invite MoMA members to the Opening Night Preview Party of the Eighteenth Annual Print Fair, sponsored by the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA). Proceeds from the event benefit MoMA's Department of Prints and Illustrated Books.


Those who purchase tickets at higher levels will receive a new screenprint, shown above, created especially for this occasion by artist Ed Ruscha (subject to limited availability).

See Moore in America at The New York Botanical Garden
