Gourmet food company president, philanthropist, racing enthusiast,
liberal activist, and ten-time Oscar nominee Paul Newman has died of
cancer at the age of 83. He was one of the good guys, and turned in
dozens of truly marvelous performances over the years.

**A Tribute to Charlton Heston**
The man who won the 1959 best actor Oscar as the title character in
"Ben-Hur," and portrayed Moses, Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic
figures in movie epics of the 50s and 60s, died recently at the age of
