[016] - OpenL2TP 1.6
by James Chapman (http://freshmeat.net/users/katalix/)
Sat, Sep 27th 2008 19:09
System :: Networking
System :: Operating System Kernels :: Linux
About: OpenL2TP is an L2TP client/server written specifically for Linux.
It has been designed for use as an enterprise L2TP VPN server or for use in
commercial, Linux-based, embedded networking products. It consists of a
daemon, openl2tpd, which handles the L2TP control protocol exchanges for
all tunnels and sessions, a plugin for pppd to allow its PPP connections to
run over L2TP sessions, a Linux kernel driver for efficient datapath, and a
command line application for management.
Changes: The code now ensures that subprocesses don't inherit opened file
descriptors from openl2tpd. In some circumstances, sockets would remain
open until all spawned processes exited, which lead to some unusual
effects. Several problems with the Debian package were fixed to make it
ready for upstream submission.

Sat, Sep 27th 2008 18:41
Software Development :: Libraries
System :: Logging
About: Pantheios is a C/C++ logging API library. It offers an optimal
combination of complete type-safety, very high efficiency, genericity, and
extensibility. It is simple to use and extend, highly portable (platform
and compiler independent), and it upholds the C tradition of only paying
for what you use. Pantheios supports logging of message statements of
arbitrary complexity, consisting of heterogenous types. Pantheios supports
filtering of log messages based on severity level.
Changes: Certain compile-error messages that are incurred when attempting
to use previously removed features have been improved for readability. The
application-defined components of be.WindowsEventLog were changed to a
single new function. This release requires 1.9.54 of STLSoft. Note that
these are breaking changes: any programs that use be.WindowsEventLog must
be modified, recompiled, and relinked.
