Quick Tips

Click What?

Here's a quick one for you! When you're working on your computer, how many times a day do you run across something that tells you to right click? I know we use that phrase in our computer tips all the time and I'm always seeing it on different Web sites as well. It seems like an easy thing to do, but what if you don't know how? Well, allow me to give you some basic instructions!

All computer mice have a left and right button. So, when you're asked to right click something, put your hand on your mouse and use your finger (it will usually be your middle finger) to push down the right button. Most right clicks come with a right click menu and that's what you'll see, depending on what you're clicking on. You will find yourself mostly right clicking the desktop, folders, icons, e-mail messages, etc. It's just a quick way to get what you need to do done. And the same goes for a left click.

I know a lot of you are probably thinking this is very elementary, but I'm positive it will help at least one of our readers out. When you're asked to right click so much, I can't imagine how difficult that would be if you're not sure how to do it. So, like I said, if this tip helps at least one person, I'll be completely satisfied. Now, go on and practice your right click. You never know when you're going to need it next!

Mark Your Territory!!

Stay Organized!!!

And Know How Much Free Space You Have!!

Finally A 512MB Flash Drive That Makes Sense!

All For A Great Price- Just $10.97

EXTREMELY LOW QUANTITY!!! Order NOW!!!

Okay, we just found this amazing new flash drive and immediately had to tell you about it! This flash drive is just soooo cool- I loved it, Steve loved it, and everyone at WorldStart loved it soo much that we had to get it into today's newsletter!

There is nothing that is worse than trying to "guess" how much free space you have on your flash drive. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I pressed that "save" button, hoping that it will let me save one more thing to it. Wouldn't it be nice if you could see how much free space was on your device before you even plugged it in?

Well, this amazing flash drive has a screen that always displays how much free space is available! Never again will you have to worry about a flash drive being too full when you are trying to save your important work.

Flash Drives come in all shapes and sizes. For bigger projects, you can use a flash drive with a huge amount of storage space. But what about those small projects? Do you really want to store it on the huge flash drive, just so you have to spend hours sorting through 2+GB of stored information? I don't think so!!!

That is exactly why a small 512MB Flash Drive is sooo handy. It will allow you to easily save, back-up and access all your important files. I have told everyone multiple times that I have several flash drives. Well, when I was in college, I had a flashdrive for each semester. I made folders for each class and would save a copy of all my work on the flash drive.

As I got further in my degree, I started taking multiple classes that would help me formulate and write my honor's thesis. For this important, massive project, I got a 512MB Flash Drive, and it easily allowed me to save and store this important 50 page project and the hundred of pages of research, with space to spare. And the best part, with this flash drive I was able to pull up my paper and my research on any computer. This flash drive became so important to me that I thought about taking out an insurance policy on it.

But, I wish my flash drive had this amazing screen, because not only does the screen show you how much free space is available, it also allows you to modify the name. You could plug in your name, or the name of your project and keep everything organized. Personally, I think it would have been so nice to program the title of my thesis right on the front of my flash drive. Do you know how much time that would have saved me when I was searching through all my flash drives for the right one with the information I needed on it!

I only wish I would have gotten this kind of deal on my 512MB flash drive. And this one is amazing!!! It is really compact, which is soo nice when you are carrying it with you all the time!!! Plus, this device has Plug and Play, which means you will never have to mess with drivers. All you have to do is plug it into a USB port, and it is ready to go!

I really wish I would have gotten this kind of deal on my flash drive. For today only, this amazing 512MB Flashdrive is just $10.97 AND US SHIPPING IS FREE. Check it out:

P.S. This flash drive allows to to carry the essentials with you all the time! Don't be caught wishing you had something with you, when all you had to do is store it on this small flash drive and stick it in your purse or pocket. Order yours now before the increases to $14.97 tomorrow!!!

"Hey Toto- I Don't Think We Are In Kansas Anymore!"

Shiny Ruby Red Mouse

That Fits Your Hand Better Than Dorothy's Slippers!

And You Don't Have To Go To Travel "Over The Rainbow" To Get It!

We all know Dorothy's shiny ruby red slippers from The Wizard of Oz. When placed on her feet, those magical slippers gave her the power to click her heels three times and wind up back home in Kansas.

Well, what if I told you that I found a mouse that is just as cool and just as magical as Dorothy's pretty little slippers, but I didn't have to travel to Oz to get it.

This ruby red mouse is really awesome. First, lets talk comfort. Obviously, those shiny slippers that Dorothy wore on her feet optimized comfort.

Wouldn't you want to have that pinnacle of comfort in a mouse as Dorothy had in her shoes? Of course you would. And just like Dorothy's shoes, this mouse is amazingly comfortable. It's ergonomic design really fits the shape of my hand! And the best part, it works great for both right and left handed users!!!

And the magic just keeps getting better! This mouse uses optical technology, making cleaning your mouse a thing of the past! With the optical system, this mouse does not have a ball that you have to worry about cleaning! I don't know what I would do without this technology? One thing is for sure, I will never go back to a mouse with a ball in it ever again!!!

Plus- The optical light really shines, making it sparkle brighter than Dorothy's slippers. And the optical technology has precise cursor movement really, which allows for this mouse to be used quickly and efficiently.

Better yet, scroll button acts as the third button. So when you are quickly scrolling down WorldStart's screen and see a really cool tip or product, all you have to do is click on the scroll button and it will take you where you need to go and you don't need to repeat "there's no place like home!" three times to get there either! ! It is so easy!!!

Wait until you try out this mouse. All of your friends will want to know where you got it!

Your cost? For just $10.97 and US Shipping is Free this mouse will be yours!!

All in all, this includes a whopping 40 tools that can really pump up your system! And the best thing is it's all automatic! I don't think there's a setting in Windows this software can't tweak or improve. We were amazed at everything this one piece of software can do - and how easy it was to make changes. Stuff that would normally be exceedingly difficult or impossible for the average user to accomplish was done in a couple mouse clicks.

Here's just a very small sample of what this software can do:

Computers 101

Q:
What does the CC feature do in Outlook Express?

A:
I've been getting this question on a regular basis lately, so I figured it was about time we go over this again. So, what is CC? Well, in reference to e-mail, CC stands for Carbon Copy. It is mainly used to send copies of an e-mail to additional people who may be interested in the topic of the e-mail.

You can use the CC to send an e-mail to a few extra people who might need to see it, but don't need it to be addressed to them directly. For example, maybe you're having a birthday party and you're inviting all of your friends who live close by. You also have some friends who live out of state, so you know they won't be able to make it, but as a courtesy, you want to include them as well. So, you just address the e-mail to all your close by friends and CC the ones who live further away.

The CC feature comes in handy in times like those. You can use it for several other situations as well. It's just nice to let other people see the e-mail, even though it may not be directly for them.

In Outlook Express, the CC is located right under the To: line. Type one e-mail address in the To: space and then tab down to type in the others in the CC spot. It's as easy as pie!

Most e-mail programs, other than Outlook Express (Yahoo!, AOL, Hotmail, etc.), have the CC feature available for use as well. So, if CCing sounds like something you'd be interested in, start using it today!

Also, just as a reminder, BCC stands for Blind Carbon Copy and you can use it to hide the names and e-mail addresses of your recipients. Click here for more information on that. Happy e-mailing!

MS Office

The Case of the Missing Labels

Have you used MS Excel 2007 to make a chart lately?

Did you feel like you missed a step or something?

I mean, you highlighted your data, used the Insert tab on the ribbon to select a chart type and poof! A chart appeared in your worksheet.

Sounds nice and fast, but wait just a minute. What about all the details the older versions of Excel would allow you to put in through the Chart Wizard?

You know, "small things," such as axes labels, a chart title, grid lines on the graph, etc. Yes, all the things that are key components to ensuring your audience understands exactly what they're looking at.

Have you looked for them?

If you only found a way to insert a chart, but no formatting options, you may be a bit frustrated.

So, how can you get the formatting options back?

Well, actually, Excel brings them to you!

Upon the insertion of a chart, Excel will automatically display three extra tabs on the ribbon. Together, they're labeled as Chart Tools.

As you can see, there are tabs for Design, Layout and Format.

While there are interesting and eye-catching options on all of the tabs, most of the missing labels and whatnot can be found on the Layout tab.

You're now ready for business as usual!

It brought up a ton of nasty gunk. It was rather GROSS... But guess what? My drain never worked so well! It sure did fix my slow drain problem! You defintely need to give this a try!!! Eventually, you will have a clogged up drain!!! And this fantastic tool will really save you a ton of money compared to the price of a plumber!!! HEY!

Save Your Life For $12.97!

Incredible Device Detects Electrical Current!

Don't Mess With Wires Or Electricity Without It!

EZ Test To See If There's Power!

Have you or someone you know ever needed to do some household wiring? Or maybe you just needed a way to test and see if something was actually getting power?  If so, this is one device you'll want for the next time! It's a Non-Contact Voltage Detector and it's a real life saver!

I mean, you know how it goes. You play the "flip the breaker" game (they never seem to be labeled well - kind of like modern Russian Roulette), until you "think" you have the power off to the area you need to wire. Unfortunately, thinking you have the power off just isn't enough - ask me how I know, LOL!

For instance, when we got our new house I had to replace one of the electrical outlets. Flipped off the breaker, lights in that room went off, and I thought I was set. THANK GOODNESS I have one of these little gadgets!

Just to be safe, I decided to use a Non-Contact Voltage Detector like the one were featuring today and see if the power was really out. OOPS! YIKES! The power was still on! The plug was at the edge of another circuit - and that circuit was still hot! Thankfully, I was able to get the correct breaker thrown and all went well.

How does it work? Couldn't be easier. Make sure you have fresh batteries installed, unit is on, then just hold the device up to the outlet (or wire, socket, whatever). If there's power, it will whistle and flash!

I've also found it's absolutely great to track use to down power problems! Say you have something that's not working (like a lamp) and you replaced the bulb and still no go. You can simply put this next to the outlet to see if there's power, next to the cord to see if it's getting power, and even into the socket to see if the power is getting there! Unlimited uses - something everyone should have!

I know I used the heck out of mine during our remodeling and I really can't recommend this little gadget highly enough! Don't just flip a switch or breaker off and assume your safe - know for sure!

Again, your cost is just $12.97 and US shipping is FREE! Pretty cheap "life" insurance if you ask me! First time it keeps you from zappin' yourself, you'll be thanking me for telling you about it! Grab one today!

Tip of the Day

YouTube Video Annotations

Have you noticed that some YouTube videos have silver speech bubbles or boxes in them? Well, that's a beta feature YouTube is trying out called the TestTube (clever name, huh?!) The silver boxes (also known as video annotations) look like this:

Now, if they bother you while you’re watching a video, you can turn them off. There’s an icon in the bottom right hand corner of the video and if you hover over it and click on the button that pops up, the annotations will disappear.

But if you want to keep the annotations, here’s how to add them:

1.) Go to http://www.youtube.com, scroll down to the bottom of the page and choose TestTube.

2.) Under Video Annotations, click Try It Out.

3.) Now, if you’re not already logged in, go ahead and do so.

4.) Then head over to the My Videos section and click on Annotations under the video you want to annotate.

5.) There are three types of annotations: Speech Bubble, Note and Spotlight. I suggest you experiment a little to see which one you like the best.

Here's to enjoying YouTube just a little bit more!

Today's Feature

Stellarium

I have a free download for you today called Stellarium and it turns your computer into a star viewing machine. Now, I'm not talking about Brad Pitt or Paris Hilton. I mean the real stars. You know, the ones in the sky!

Stellarium allows you to set your current location and watch the stars and constellations move by as time changes. You can look at a real time view or you can speed things up to see where you'll find the stars later on.

It takes a few minutes to figure out the whole thing, so I'll give you a few tips! After installing the program, click on the picture of the wrench in the bottom left menu. From there, select your location and turn on the constellation view. After you do that, save and close your preferences. You should now be able to see something that makes sense. After changing the settings, you'll see the date and time in the top left hand corner. You can speed up the time or slow it down to see the stars move as they would in real life. You can do that by using the buttons in the bottom right hand corner. If you hover your mouse pointer over them, you'll see what each of them do.

If you're into star gazing, you'll love this free program. Many p***tariums use it to look at the stars as well.

You can download Stellarium for yourself right here. Or, if you're using a Mac, you can get it here. Enjoy!

Here's September's wallpaper. It's all free, so enjoy!

Black Bear

I took this guy last Sept. in Yellowstone. I'd been trying to get a good bear pic the entire trip, when he peeked around a hillside and I captured this one.

Zion Narrows

This was shot in the Zion Narrows. You have to walk through a river for about two miles to get to it. It's a slow go, but well worth the hike!

Shot last month in Zion just before I left. I was driving along and saw this in my review mirror. I turned around and grabbed the shot as quickly as I could!
