Consumer reaction to Lehman, Merrill
I'm not sure how many people in the Philadelphia area heard the news about Lehman Bros., Merrill Lynch and AIG this morning and decided to make major changes in their finances, but some must or you wouldn't hear all these commentators urging people to sit on their hands.

NY lets AIG raid own capital

New York Gov. Patterson says AIG, the largest U.S.-based insurer, is "sound", and his state will let AIG raise $20 billion from its own subsidiaries to stave off a collapse. But many AIG subsidiares are insurers in PA, DE and other states. Will they sacrifice for corporate?
