Try the Taxonomy Warehouse. You may need to use a combination of their sources and / or others.
http://www.taxonomywarehouse.com/include_about.asp

Also check with some of the database producers listed at
http://library.dialog.com/bluesheets/html/bloA.html#AGRIBUS.
Foods Adlibra may fit the bill in particular. Others may have controlled vocabularies you can tap.

Also check the controlled vocabulary terms in food and nutrition used by the Agricola database. For more information, see http://www.nisc.com/factsheets/qagc.asp

Hi Penny,
You could try taking a look at the following resource that claims to have both a thesaurus & classification scheme:
Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA)®
Food Science and Technology Abstracts is an extensive collection of abstracts prepared from the world's food science, food technology, and food-related human nutrition literature. Specialist scientists from the International Food Information Service (IFIS) extract the food-relevant information from the original literature to form concise, comprehensive summaries. This provides a quick and easy way for busy food professionals to keep up with new developments and research in the food community. Notable features of FSTA include patent coverage, a searchable thesaurus, and a subject classification scheme.

I don't know about the EU, but Britain has the Chemist & Druggist Guide to OTC Medicines and Diagnostics, published by United Business Media.

Hi Rita,

I do not know for certain but searching with Google, pointed me to this publication:

Looks a lot like what you search for.

Hi Rita

This publication certainly exists in the UK and Ireland and I assume in local languages around europe also.

In the UK there are two publications - Chemist & Druggist Guide to OTC's and the OTC Directory from the PAGB. This second directory is available online at www.medicinechestonline.com
The C&D also produce a pricelist for pharmacies which includes all of the OTC medicines (but also contains many other unrelated items for sale in pharmacies so perhaps not the best resource to use).

These items are used by pharmacists in the UK and I assume these needs must be met by the local agencies in each of the European countries.

AESGP may have some additional information for you.

From a world-wide perspective there is a publication called Martindale that contains details about active ingredients. At the end of each section it lists all the brand names that contain that ingredient - whether or not this is useful will depend on how you are doing your search i.e. whether it is by active / brand rather than by country.

Finally there is a publication called European Drug Directory but I'm not sure when this was last updated and if it would still be a viable resource?

Marc,
Thank you I pulled up the site and it looks interesting, I will explore it a bit. Hopefully this will provide me with a good start on the project, and reduce the need to go through the individual country pharmacopoeias!

I am trying to track down English language copies of the Russian Banking Law in force in 2006 and of a Central Bank of Russia regulation issued in September 2006 relating to the interpretation of article 35 of that law. Is there any source for these that you could direct me to?

Dear all,
I have looked on the Dept. Transport for information on the above topic, but haven't got very far! I'm looking for incidents or statistics relating to accidents, illness, or death while inside an airport. Do these exist?
Any help will be much welcomed!
Thank you - Zena

Zena - CAA, airport operators' associations and HSE would be a better bet than DfT.

Here's a start from HSE
http://www.hse.gov.uk/press/2004/c04024.htm

Illness might be more of a problem than accidents because of definitions and attribution of cause, and because accidents have to be reported.

Sue, thank you for this. I have crawled around various aero web sites - including the BAA's, CAA, HSE (whom I phoned), & ONS (whom I also phoned). I now know - the ONS told me! - no national figures are collected for this precise data. There are many articles on illness while in the air; and advice on travelling with pre-existing illnesses. There are also some articles on mental illness & airports. But if you turn up & throw up, then there's nothing.....

Gosh, what a lovely day - I've done an interesting enquiry, rather than 'stuff'!!

cheers - Zena
