Philadelphia-based can-maker Crown Holdings Inc. says it is building a beverage-can plant in Kechnec, in eastern Slovakia.

Cold weather can’t come too soon for Burlington Coat Factory Holdings Inc.
The South Jersey chain of 397 stores says it generates about 50 percent of its annual sales from September through January. Last year, sales were hurt by a warmer than normal September and October. Given that the temperature soared to more than 90 yesterday, September is starting off decidedly summerlike.
