– THE DATA ADMINISTRATION NEWSLETTER, LLC – http://www.TDAN.com
Dear TDAN.com Readers,
The new issue (September 2008) of The
Data Administration Newsletter (TDAN.com) has been posted. TDAN.com, now
monthly, is in its twelfth year of providing quality content for data
management professionals. This issue is again stocked with a lot of
great new material.
The September issue contains New
Articles from Stephen Putman (CDI and MDM are Broken - Part 2),
Timothy Ryan (First-Time-Right Ratio), Ashu Bhatia (BiFocal Strategy for Data
Quality) and John Singer (Paying for CMDB). Two Feature Columns
have been added. The first installment of a new quarterly Feature Column
from Joe Celko called 'SELECT * FROM Celko' has been added and Diby Malakar's
regular quarterly Feature Column – Saas and BI - will be added early this
week. Bob Dominko's Unwired Tap is still being featured on the main page
due to how late it was added last month.
Two Special Features have
been added for September including one from Robert S. Seiner (me!) - The
Last Lecture: An As-You-Go Review - has already been added and a second Special
Feature from David C. Hay - UML as a Data Modeling Notation, Part I: Two
Modeling Worlds - will be added early this week. Links to new
articles on the Business Intelligence Network have been added as
well. A new section titled TDAN.com BlogWatch will be added soon,
perhaps this week or next.
PLEASE send me articles
you are interested in having published through this award winning
publication. I am still looking to add Feature Columns that will run
quarterly in Feb/May/Aug/Nov and Mar/Jun/Sep/Dec. Please send me an email
with your ideas. Have a great month.
CALL FOR FEATURE COLUMNS:
Please let
me know if you are interested in publishing a quarterly feature columns on the
pages of TDAN.com. All ideas will be strongly considered. I am
looking columnists interested in contributing a new column for every three
months (Feb/May/Aug/Nov or Mar/Jun/Sep/Dec). I have added several new
columns recently (Adrian Miley, Diby Malakar and Ron Ross). Joe Celko’s
column started this month! Feature columns are a very popular piece of
TDAN.com content.
The rest of the publication continues to be updated regularly
including new book reviews, an updated list of data-oriented conferences
through 2008, updates to the book list of several top books published in late
’07 and in ’08, business resource list, companies and products list and
more. Two new books written by friends of mine have been added to the
Book Center including Danette McGilvray’s Executing
Data Quality Projects and Thomas C. Redman’s Data
Driven. The quote of the week (English
Proverb) and 5 data oriented news stories (TDANews) continue to be updated
weekly.
I am always interested in your feedback regarding the new
issue and the (not so) new look of TDAN.com. Please feel free to contact
me with suggestions and comments. A form has been set up through the
Contact tab to submit these comments. Thanks.
