[2] PC104+ multichannel MPEG4 Codec features Watermark Authentication

Advanced Micro Peripherals' new MPEG4000WA PC/104+ Video
Codec adds Watermark Authentication to a multichannel MPEG4
core. MPEG4000WA accepts up to four concurrent full-size
NTSC/PAL live video inputs. Its patent proprietary Watermark
Authentication algorithm guarantees that received data is
from an authentic source and tamper free, whilst being
nearly impervious to attack and preserving image quality.
MPEG4000WA offers MPEG2, MPEG4 and MJPEG video and audio
compression, with preview and playback facilities.

[5] RTOS supports PowerPCs on Xilinx FPGAs

The ThreadX RTOS now supports the PowerPC 440 processor
embedded in Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGAs. The IBM PowerPC 440 core
is a hard 32bit RISC CPU processor immersed directly into
the Xilinx Virtex FPGA fabric to implement high-performance
embedded applications. The combination of the hard PowerPC
440 processor with coprocessing capability and
high-performance Virtex-5 FPGA fabric enables a wide range
of performance optimisation options.

[7] Power-saving ICs pay back in carbon cuts

Power Integrations has saved consumers and businesses around
the world more than an estimated USD3 billion on their
energy bills with its EcoSmart energy-efficiency technology.
The technology has prevented an estimated 20 million tonnes
of carbon-dioxide emissions from power plants since its
introduction in 1998 - roughly equal to the annual emissions
of over three million cars Power Integrations' EcoSmart
chips intelligently manage the flow of power through the
power supply, dramatically improving efficiency and reducing
standby power waste by up to 95%, all without adding to the
cost of the end product.

[9] Development tools offer more options

JTAG Technologies has improved its flagship development
tool, JTAG ProVision. Already setting the standard for ease
of use combined with superior test quality, ProVision
version 1.5 encompasses even more functionality within its
highly graphical user interface. JTAG Technologies'
Application Executor (AEX), a full-functioned test sequencer
and manager, is now integrated into ProVision. Test
engineers may develop and validate complete sequences for
their test and device programming applications using the
conditional branching and command and control capabilities
of AEX, all within the JTAG ProVision development
environment.
