Hard Drive Troubleshooting Secret
Just recently I found an issue that can help us ExtremeTech forum members. My hard drive was causing my computer to lock-up. So, I replaced the hard drive for a newer one. No avail. Next, I bought a different brand hard drive, and the same problem occurred. Finally, I was messing with the BIOS and the system indicated that the overclocking went bad. Bad? So I set it back to defaults and the system ran perfectly. I suggest: Be careful when you overclock--it helps to read Joel Durham's Hosed--When Overclocking Goes Bad.

Overclocking Massacre
I thought that getting advice from an IT specialist would help me overclock my system but it seemed to do the opposite. My computer cannot boot-up after the overclocking. Furthermore, after I finally got the computer up-and-running, the system did not register for the last one gig of RAM. However, before the overclocking it registered all four gigs. Please help.
