St. Louis Author SAHER ALAM - The Groom to Have Been
Just as Nasr, a young man with a vibrant
professional and social life in New York, begins to
prepare for the arranged marriage he hopes will
appease his Indian Muslim family and assure him a
union as happy as his parents', he starts to suspect
that his true love has been within his reach his entire
life. Since they were children, Jameela has flouted the
traditions her community holds dear. But now the
rebellion that has always made her seem dangerous
suddenly makes him wonder if she might be his
perfect match. In the wake of 9/11, new fears and old
prejudices threaten to stand between him and the
promise of happiness. Thursday, July 24,

Daniel Silva - Moscow Rules
The death of a journalist leads Gabriel Allon to
Russia, where in terms of spycraft, even he has
something to learn. This is not the grim, gray Moscow
of Soviet times but a new Moscow, awash in oil
wealth and choked with bulletproof Bentleys. A
Moscow where power resides once more behind the
walls of the Kremlin and where critics are ruthlessly
silenced. A Moscow where a new generation of
Stalinists is plotting to relaim an empire lost and to
challenge the global dominance of the U.S. Hidden
within that empire is a more lucrative and deadly
business: a sophisticated weapons trade to al-
Queda. The clock is ticking fast for Allon.
Books for signing must be purchased from Left
Bank Books or at the event. You must purchase a
copy of Moscow Rules to have books signed by
the author.

Nancy Horan - Loving Frank
In 1903, Mamah and her husband, Edwin, had
commissioned the renowned architect Frank Lloyd
Wright to design a new home for them. During the
construction of the house, a powerful attraction
developed between Mamah and Frank, in time the
lovers, each married with children, embarked on a
course that would shock Chicago society and forever
change thier lives. While scholars have largely
relegated Mamah to a footnote in the life of America's
greatest architect, Nancy Horan blends fact and fiction
to give full weight to their dramatic love story and
illuminate Mamah Cheney's profound influence on
Wright.
