The OhMyGov!
website (motto: "America Love It or Fix It") maintains a map
of missing and stolen government "stuff" such as laptops and
hard drives. The idea is that website readers can be on the lookout
for
the items, and possibly help get them back to the rightful owners.

Webcasts of Geospatial Web Services 2008 The Geospatial Web Services
workshop at Centre for Geospatial Science, University of Nottingham
held June 16-17th, 2008 had an interesting twist: a live webcast. More
than 300 viewers followed the presentations over two days. Organizer
Dr. Suchith Anand of the University wants to share the content as he
believes "technologies like webcasting and podcasting will help in
widening participation of GIS research conferences and events for the
benefit of the society at large."
