Slower economy hurts Microsoft sales
Microsoft, the world's biggest software maker, posted a profit for its fourth quarter that trailed analyst estimates and gave a disappointing forecast after a sluggish U.S. economy crimped sales.

Google's profit rises 35%
Google said profit in the second quarter rose 35 percent, but the results fell short of Wall Street expectations.

IBM earnings lifted by sales outside U.S.
International Business Machines reported its profit rose 22 percent in the second quarter, beating expectations and buoyed by higher sales in the economically troubled United States and abroad because of growth in services, hardware and software.
