The 20 Best Tech Products Under $100
As Editor-in-Chief of the PCMag network, nothing makes me giddier than a good piece of technology. Oh, wait. There is one thing that makes me even happier: good, cheap technology. PCMag.com found nearly two dozen sub-$100 goodies. I am beside myself.

The Worst Tech Products of Spring 2008
While I love giving people advice on what tech gear to buy, I believe one of PCMag Network’s key roles is to warn consumers and business owners about which tech to avoid. This collection includes a disappointing digitizing tablet, an underperforming gaming PC, a lackluster photo frame, useless antispyware, and more. It’s quite the collection. Print out the list and take it with you the next time you hit Best Buy—it’ll help you remember which aisles to avoid.
Viacom Has Gone Too Far
Over the holiday weekend I heard that Viacom requested, and was given, YouTube user logs. I was so stunned that I almost blew up like one of the fireworks I saw on July 4.. Next thing I knew, I was at the computer composing a letter of sorts to Viacom Chairman and Founder Sumner Redstone. I probably should have drunk some soothing tea instead—too late for that now. Read it before Viacom turns its irate eye on me.
The Ten Top Dvorak Columns of the Past Year
I love curmudgeon columnist John C. Dvorak. There’s no angrier or more honest and insightful pundit in all of techdom. He raises our awareness and yanks our chain. All the while engaging us as no other columnist around does. This collection of his ten-most-read columns of the past year includes reader rejoinders. It’s classic stuff.
Gearlog's Favorite Robot Toys
If you love robots—and who doesn’t?—you’ll love this list of the ten best robot products available today. I recently saw Pixar’s Wall-E and cannot wait to get my hands on the real-world counterpart.
Bargain Hunt: External Hard Drives
Storage is cheap, really cheap. If you don’t have a few backup drives in your home, you’re missing out. With prices like these, you simply have no excuse.

Top iPhone Alternative for the Top Network
Apple’s iPhone officially has a fight on its hands. Verizon, arguably the best cell and data network out there now, has an iPhone-like phone that beats the iPhone in many respects. It’s got a more powerful camera that captures still images and video and even a haptic interface that gives you tactile feedback when you touch the giant screen. This could be Verizon customers’ ultimate smartphone. It’s already PCMag’s Editors’ Choice. Read the review for more juicy details.
ExtremeTech's PC Building Video Tutorial
Time to learn how to build a PC from the DIY experts: the ExtremeTech analysts. This show-and-tell included words, photos, and, best of all, video. Go buy your parts and then follow along.
Windows vs. Apple Showdown
One intrepid ExtremeTech reader probably should have been an accountant (heck, maybe he is). He’s taken a by-the-numbers approach to comparing Mac and Windows PCs. The results? You’ll have to read the post to find out.
