[1] New Radiometrix transceiver boasts 5km range
Wireless specialist Radiometrix announces the availability
of the 25kHz multi-channel BHX2 narrowband transceiver
solution with a 500mW (+27dBm) RF output, boasting a range
of up to 5km. Standard operating frequency is the
458.5-459.1MHz UK band, however custom variants covering any
5MHz switching band between 420-480MHz are also available.
Applications include industrial and commercial
telemetry/telecommand systems, heavy vehicle/machine remote
controls, long range data buoys and high-end security
systems

[2] Variable speed drive cuts energy costs
This frequency inverter drive comes with a simple user
interface that provides an 'out of the box' solution for
common variable speed motor control applications up to 7.5kW
such as pumps, fans and conveyors. Compared with the
direct-online configurations often used, variable speed
control can cut energy costs and payback very quickly. VS1ST
drives come in single- and three-phase versions and
incorporate analog/digital I/O and a relay output, providing
facilities to create custom remote control panels, and to
integrate with into a process.

[3] M2232U DC Micromotor is your Low-cost Powerhouse
Micro-Drives announces the Series M2232U. The low-cog DC
micromotor has an 22 mm external motor-diameter with a 32 mm
length. The low-cog rotation is achieved through a
combination of skewed laminations and a tapered permanent
magnet system. The DC micromotor can achieve a stall torque
of 25.62 mNm and speeds of up to 10,000 rpm. The M2232U can
be combined with gearheads, encoders, and linear actuator
for a complete minimotor DC drive systems.

[4] Vacuum guide eases motor choices
Aerotech has updated and expanded the vacuum preparation
section of its Engineering Reference tutorial. Available on
the Aerotech website in HTML or in downloadable PDF format,
the section details important design considerations and
recommendations for high-precision motion control systems in
low vacuum (10-3 Torr), standard vacuum (10-6 Torr) to high
vacuum (10-8 Torr) environments. The resource explores
Aerotech's experience of vacuum-compatible precision motion
platforms covering materials selection, surface finishing,
minimising outgassing and optimising lubrication.

[5] Stainless steel drive motors, geared motors, actuators and couplings
Stainless steel drive motors, geared motors, actuators and
couplings are available from Lenze. Typical applications are
found in the food and beverage industry, but also in
machinery used outdoors. Ingress of water from washdown or
environmental conditions can cause expensive downtime. These
drive products are designed with minimal dirt traps, cutting
maintenance and increasing plant availability.

[7] Linear magnetic encoder allows up to 100m of travel
Renishaw's new LM10 linear magnetic encoder brings 100
metres travel and high speed operation of up to 25m/s (4m/s
at 1 um resolution) to hostile environments too dusty,
dirty, greasy or destructive for optical encoders. Available
in digital or analogue output variants, and a range of
customer-selectable resolutions, the LM10 features an IP68
rated readhead that rides at up to 1.5 mm from the self
adhesive magnetic strip scale.

[8] O1D optical distance sensor from ifm electronic sees even further
Even outdoor installations are no problem for the latest
version of sensor market leader ifm electronic's O1D
optical laser distance sensor. Able to withstand extraneous
light levels up to 100 klx (equivalent to a bright sunny
day), the new version needs to be able to work outside
because it has a range of up to 75 m to a prismatic
reflector.

[10] Pressure regulators handle unstable applications
Hoerbiger-Origa has extended its Airfit Control range of
proportional pressure regulators with new models that bring
truly dynamic control and precise regulation to applications
requiring large and rapidly changing pressure differences,
high flow rates, or extremes in input or output pressures.
The Airfit SRE and CRE Control pressure regulators cover
size ranges from 0.25in (G 1/4) to 2in (G2). They deliver
precise and reliable pressure regulation in applications
with high temperatures, high levels of vibration or high
levels of contamination.
