Cartier is charting new social ad territory as the first luxury brand to venture into the MySpace pond. The brand is promoting its "Love by Cartier" product line on branded MySpace pages. This isn't the company's first social networking excursion -- as it has also advertised on niche social networking site ASmallWorld, which caters to the rich and famous -- but the new campaign does mark the brand's first foray into a public social networking space.

Because folks are so thoroughly connected via the plethora of social media tools and platforms at their disposal, it's fairly easy for a "wealth of information" to suddenly become "too much information." So what can a company do to protect itself? Employees can anonymously post information that would be relevant for other folks looking to join the company's ranks, as well as salary information, CEO approval rating, and general job satisfaction ratings.
