Barbecued Pork On A Bun

Want the flavor of barbecued sandwiches, but don't want to get the grill out or turn on the oven? Fix this slow cook version of barbecue pork for sandwiches.

Add Stars amd Stripes Spud Salad to your Fourth of July holiday menu. Instead of boiling, the potatoes in this recipe are roasted together with garlic...and the crispy crumbled bacon adds even more great flavor and crunch!

Barbecued Pork On A Bun

2 pounds boneless pork loin
1 onion, chopped
3/4 cup cola carbonated beverage
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
8 sandwich buns
  1. Combine all ingredients except buns in a 4-quart slow-cooker; cook, covered, on high for 5 to 6 hours, until very tender.
  2. Drain and slice or shred pork; serve on buns with additional barbecue sauce, if desired.

Makes 8 servings.

Cooking Tip: This recipe can be made 1 to 2 days ahead; refrigerate covered and reheat before serving.
