D-WAY MEGA TRE-FLIP FOR THE TRANSWORLD COVER
Can you imagine what a 55-foot 360 flip looks like? Check out the cover of the new issue of TransWorld Skateboarding to see the real deal as Danny Way handles one no-grab over the MegaRamp gap.
Inside, the issue's feature article digs into the current state of vertical skateboarding. Is vert still progressive? Is vert dead? Is vert even still cool? (A 55-foot no-grab tre-flip should answer at least a couple of doubts.) The mag explores the genre through looking at all its versions, from MegaRamp and classic vert ramps to pools. The mag also relies on the expert knowledge of Danny Way, Colin McKay, and others to help settle the questions.
The August 2008 issue of TransWorld Skateboarding is hitting shops now.

OUT NOW: THE SMITH 2.0
Hitting skate shops starting this month, for Fall 2008 DC is proud to release the Smith 2.0 shoe and apparel pack. The third pro model from Ryan Smith, this edition features an all-new design plus artwork collaboration with legendary skateboard graphic artist Jimbo Phillips.
A seriously fun new pro model from Smithers.
For his newest pro model Smith had a scrupulous attention to detail, analyzing every stitch and toiling over the sole design until he settled on his ideal skate shoe. Performance features include Super Suede, DCs superior upper material that lasts 50% longer than traditional suede; and DCs new Rubber Performance Wrap Cup Sole, a technology that achieves the performance and look of a traditional vulcanized sole but has a lower weight than comparable outsoles.
About his new shoe, Ryan said, I was more concerned with aesthetics, because the quality is already there with DC. We just tried different contrast stitching, high-grade leathers, and other ideas. Just wanted to make a bitchin skateboard shoe!

The custom Jimbo Phillips graphic just for the Smith 2.0 project.
Based on his nostalgia for the artwork and aesthetic of 80s skateboarding graphics, Smith elected to incorporate that style of art into his Smith 2.0 S shoe and apparel. Jimbo Phillips, as one of the leading skateboard graphic artists in the world today and son of Santa Cruz Skateboards Jim Phillips, became the clear choice to undertake the project. A true collaboration, Jimbo took guidance from Smith and sought his approval throughout, all while maintaining a high level of creative freedom.
Jimbos artwork can be found on the Smith 2.0 S footbed and on select apparel pieces, including the Smith Zip-Hood, the Smith Tee, and the Smith Sticker.
Ryan also said, Its meant to be a fun shoe, where you can just go outside and skate. Its not meant to be something overdramatic. Its a fun shoe thats made really, really well.
Pick up the Smith 2.0 S shoe and apparel at your local skate shop now!

DAVI MILLSAPS BATTLES TO THE HIGH POINT PODIUM
Davi came from behind in both Motos to earn a podium spot.
Congratulations to Davi Millsaps on a solid 3rd place finish at the High Point National last weekend in Pennsylvania. Davi charged through the slightly wet, muddy conditions (the track got an un-seasonal rain the day before) to a consistent 3-3 finish.
In the first Moto Davi managed to battle his way to the top three by the halfway point, fighting off a few chargers to claim a solid finish. The second Moto saw more of the same, with Davi settling into the third position early on and staying there to lock down the finish and third place overall.
