Scientists have long scratched their heads over this, coming up with and discarding a variety of theories as to why ladies outlive guys, but the bottom line appears to be that they just do.

Why Do Women Live Longer Than Men?
One theory was that men do more dangerous things than women do - ride motorcycles, engage in extreme sports, run for political office, etc. For obvious reasons, this is no longer true.

Women and Stress
Another theory I've heard bandied about over the years is that women have less stressful lifestyles than men, and therefore suffer from fewer cardiovascular problems, etc. Sometimes my girlfriends and I discuss this theory and laugh and laugh and laugh. (Laughter being excellent medicine for our stressful lives.)

A bar in my neighborhood has a unique happy hour: They offer a special where you get a free piece of dark chocolate with any glass of red wine. Both of which, by the way, are super-fun ways to extend your life. (As long as you consume both in moderation.)
