    Hoosier child poverty rises

    In recent years Indiana has made some gains in the overall well being of its children. However, the 2008 Kids Count Data Book released today has some troubling indicators, such as an increase in the child poverty rate from 14 percent in 2000 to 18 percent in 2006 and a high number of Hoosier children in detention.
