Dear Musician,
By the time you receive our next newsletter, the Harmony Central team will have just returned from the Summer NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show in Nashville, Tennessee. While it's unfortunate that holding the show in Austin the past two years didn't work out—it's a great place to hang—there's a lot to be said for returning to "Music City, USA."
And once again, we'll be taking our videos to the next level. At Frankfurt, we tried an experiment: "Long-form" videos that resembled a TV show more than the usual single-product videos. With hosts like Mats Nermark, Dr. Walker, and our own Craig Anderton, we were able to pack more products into less time, and include expert commentary. Statistics on these videos showed you liked them a lot. In fact, even though Mats' 45-minute was split into three parts, there was very little dropoff from one part to the next—it seems if people watched the first part, most took the time to watch the other ones as well. That says a lot.
We'll also be presenting highlight videos a little differently too, with "live" action from the floor itself, not just summaries at the end of the day. And as usual, we have a few other tricks up our sleeves as well.
It's all part of our continuing efforts to make sure that Harmony Central maintains its leadership position in trade show coverage, and to find new ways of making sure our community is the best-informed on the web. And watch for our dedicated Summer NAMM discussion forum, which we'll open up shortly.
Going to Summer NAMM? If you see us roaming the aisles, stop by and say "hi." We just might ask you some questions, and you can become part of the coverage!
—Your Harmony Central Team

Hot Tip! |

CPU RAM Meter
If you're using a Windows computer for recording or making music, sometimes it's really helpful to know just how hard you're pushing it. Is your CPU about to run out of gas? Are you dangerously low on precious RAM? Knowing about possible problems in advance can help you take preventative action (like "freezing" tracks in a DAW program) before your system comes crashing down. To download a simple (and free!) meter that sits on your desktop, click here.
