A Note from Linda:

Hi Criss,

When I send out a newsletter with a Tip of the Week, some of you faithfully create a page using the technique.

That's the best way to learn!

This week I thought you might enjoy seeing a sample from the last three Tips of the Week.

There are some other very cool pages in the Tip of the Week Gallery, as well.

Volume 2 Sale & Bonus

I had such a great response to the sale of my Volume 2 CD that my assistant Mary is hopping between sending out orders and answering emails about the sale.

Please be aware that your order may take a little longer to arrive because of the volume of orders we have to mail.

We'll be sending you the link to download your bonus this week, however, probably in the next couple of days.

Computer Woes

I'm having computer troubles so I wasn't able to create a web page this week for the Tip of the Week. Instead I've put the screen shots and instructions in this newsletter. (See Tip of the Week below.)

Have a great week!

Love and scrapbooking success,

Linda

What is Premier?

The June Premier will be up soon, so until then I still have the May Premier available:

May Premier: EMBOSSING TECHNIQUES, Part 2: Lessons 1 - 4

There are so many cool ways you can apply the embossing technique, so join me as I guide you through an entire project from start to finish.

We'll make a darling painted, embossed, and sanded frame. Along the way you'll also learn how to create a whimsical broken heart outline, and you'll discover how easy it is to use filters to create an instant sanded look!

May Premier Designer Kit

Revel in the yummy colors and vibrant designs of A Mother's Love kit by Misty Cato! The color palette of this kit has a fresh, updated feel that's perfect for a variety of subjects, including, of course, honoring Mom on her special day.

This kit is included in the May Digital Scrapper Premier Issue.

Tip of the Week:

Disappearing Tag
by Linda Sattgast

When you have a photo of sand or grass you can make a tag appear to be partially buried.

Here I took a photo of the sand at the Oregon coast where we went for our family reunion. Then I enlarged it to make a background for this page about the cousins at the beach.

tip1

Notice how the tags appear to be partially buried in the sand. Here's how to create that effect:

Create your tag and position it where you want it to be on your page.

tip2

Get the Lasso tool and draw a selection outline around the section you want to "bury."

Right click (Mac: Ctrl click) to get a pop up menu. Choose feather. Enter a feather amount of 4 and click okay.

tip3

Press the Backspace Key (Mac: Delete key) and deselect (Select > Deselect).

tip4

Add some type, a tie, and a custom shadow to complete the look!
