MSDN Flash
Volume 12, Number 12: June 2, 2008
From the Editor
Microsoft is beginning the process of re-inventing MSDN as a community-driven site where individual developers are at the center of the experience, and social activities enable their success. This means MSDN will include articles, code, and other resources that are created and contributed by customers in addition to resources developed by Microsoft.

Opening the site up to the developer community will be a journey, but this month the MSDN team is delivering on the vision in several big ways:
Social Bookmarks Preview : With MSDN Social Bookmarks you can save all your favorites online, see what other developers are bookmarking, find experts, and even get your bookmarks published on the MSDN Web site. Try it out!
All-new MSDN Forums : Forums are a great place for finding answers to tough technical questions. The new Forums site is easier to use, has a totally new UX, and cool new features like Live Update.
New Profile Page : Your profile is a key part of the new site experience, and now features a big avatar image and feeds of your MSDN contributions such as forum posts and social bookmarks. Sign in and check it out.
New Site Design: The MSDN home page and home pages for many of the top Dev Centers (like VB, VC#, and VC++ ) have been updated with a new design that increases the visibility of people and content from the community and other important resources.
The MSDN team wants your input and feedback on the future of the site. Here are two ways you can get involved:
Dantr Blog: Read this blog to hear the latest ideas and plans about the future of the MSDN site - straight from Dan Truax, GM for the global MSDN, TechNet, CodePlex, and Expression sites.
MSDN Futures Forum: Have an idea you think we should be thinking about? Want to give us some feedback? Use this forum to engage directly with the MSDN team.
On June 11 we are having a SharePoint Web 2.0 Fire Starter event at the Microsoft Conference Center in Redmond, WA. The whole event is simulcast via Live Meeting. Come join us online at this full-day event and learn more about customizing and building Web pages, Web Parts, Silverlight, and more from a SharePoint context. We have the makers and shakers of the SharePoint world presenting these sessions. Register soon.
