  White Horse Village    
 

Deep in Wuxi County in the west of China, White Horse Village is undergoing radical transformation - a symbol of China's economic revolution. Until now the village has been sheltered from the great convulsions of Chinese history, however that's all about to change. In the first of three programmes, shown as part of the Inside China season, the BBC's Carrie Gracie (pictured) explores the present and future of White Horse Village: a portrait in miniature of China's reform.

In the celestial city of Jaipur he finds the key to the cosmos before entering the world's greatest temple to love, the Taj Mahal (pictured).

This week extratime is in England ahead of the Cheltenham Festival, a highlight of the equestrian calendar. Reporter Clare Balding talks to champion trainer Paul Nicholls, whose horses Kauto Star (pictured) and Denman are the two top contenders for the prestigious Gold Cup. Such is the brilliance of these two horses that some see it as the greatest head-to-head race in more than 40 years.
