Newsletter preview

Hey Shanghai,

Wud up, cuz. So ... fair warning ... this isn't going to be a good newsletter this week 'cause the ole Admiral had himself a big ole night at Bonbon last night. With the Beach Honeys. Yes, the Beach Honeys. Talented bunch the lot of them. According to Beach Honeys magazine, which I am perusing at the moment -- yes, there is a Beach Honeys magazine and it's fabulous -- most of their interests include singing, dancing, and internet shopping.

Keep reaching for the stars, ladies.

Two big openings this weekend, rep'rah'zenting two polar opposites of the nightlife scene in Shangers. The first one is ... "First" ... which is some kind of Bund club. They've actually been open for a few weeks now, but tonight is when they're having their official opening. It's a Moulin Rouge hip hop-themed thing -- no cover -- but drinks aren't free, and that's tonight. Uh ... opening party and no free drinks? What?

The other opening is Windows Underground, which is going to be radical beyond comprehension with glam / folk band Second Hand Rose playing. That's tomorrow night. You can tell its going to be good because the logo for Windows Underground is written in Iron Maiden font. Only the very best things warrant the Iron Maiden font, not the least of which is Iron Maiden themselves. I'll be there like spray-on hair.

Also of interest to you (maybe) is a private little soiree at Anar bar tomorrow night. Vancouver DJ Kevin Shui will be performing an invite-only party for the in-crowd. If you want in on that shit - and you are a Q5 member - send us an email here, with your contact info (name, address, mobile number) and your Q5 card number and we'll get you on the list.

There's some other stuff happening this weekend but I'm too hungover to get excited about it. Scroll down yourself. I'm done, man. I'm out.

But oh, so I saw Indiana Jones and the Temple of I Want My Money Back yesterday.

Disappointing to say the least. I was expecting this: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it was more like this: !!!????:(☹ ☹WTF☹☹???WTFWTF. You have been warned.

Half-a-mil for bail cause I'm African,

Da Admiral
