LINUX GAINS "EMBEDDED" MAINTAINERS
Linux kernel development is funded mostly by "enterprise" interests;
yet, Linux is the top OS in devices and embedded systems. Now, two
"embedded" maintainers have been added, and an official "linux-embedded"
mailing list launched, to ensure that embedded interests are represented
under Linux's meritocratic governance model.

VIA UNVEILS "NANO" PROCESSORS
Via Technologies has announced the first processors based on its new
x86-compatible "Isaiah" micro-architecture. The "Nano" processors are
pin-compatible with Via's existing C7 processor family, and occupy

hotspots. The Slacker Portable's new capabilities come thanks to the
addition of DeviceScape Connect, a login client and service designed to
connect browser-less devices to WLANs.

NAS HACKERS ALLEGE GPL VIOLATION
A community website devoted to sharing information about Linux-based NAS
(network attached storage) servers has added a "GPL" page to collect
vendor distributions of GPL-licensed source code. In assembling the
page, NAS-central.org ran across one alleged violator, says site
co-founder Markus Toth.
