Volume 10, Issue 11: May 28, 2008
Microsoft is beginning the process of reinventing TechNet as a community-driven site. This means TechNet will include articles, scripts, and other resources that are created and contributed by customers in addition to what is developed by Microsoft. Opening the site up to the community will be a journey, but this month the TechNet team is delivering on the vision in several big ways:
| • |
Social Bookmarks Preview: With TechNet Social Bookmarks you can save all your favorites online, see what other IT professionals are bookmarking, find experts, and even get your bookmarks published on the TechNet Web site.
|
| • |
All-New TechNet Forums: The new Forums site is easier to use, has a totally new user experience (UX), and cool new features like Live Update.
|
| • |
New Profile Page: Your profile is a key part of the new site experience and now features a big avatar image and feeds of your TechNet contributions like forum posts and social bookmarks.
|
| • |
New Site Design: The TechNet home page and home pages for many of the top TechCenters have been updated with a new design that increases the visibility of people and content from the community.
|
The TechNet team wants your input and feedback on the future of the site. Here are two ways you can get involved:
| • |
DanTr Blog: Read this blog to hear the latest ideas and plans about the future of the TechNet site -- straight from Dan Truax, GM for the global MSDN, TechNet, CodePlex, and Expression sites.
|
| • |
TechNet Futures Forum: Have an idea you think we should be thinking about? Want to give us some feedback? Use this forum to engage directly with the TechNet team.
