Prank Your Friends: The Flash Screaming Maze The "screaming maze" trick is an oldie-but-goodie: a prank disguised as a Flash game to test your mouse control skills / hand-eye coordination. For people who keep the volume on their computers set rather high (translate: me), it's a heart attack waiting to happen when, after numerous attempts to navigate the ever-narrowing maze and after finally approaching success, my computer suddenly erupts into gut-churning screams while my "game" flashes horrific faces at me.

Summer Education: Flash Kids' CornerPrank Your Friends: The Schools are letting out for the summer, which can only mean one thing: droves of hyperactive, howling children flooding every available space. Kids will be kids, and there's something a bit uplifting (and a bit earsplitting) about the sight of children at play - but when they're at home and you want to keep them busy without just parking them in front of the TV, it doesn't hurt to get them started on something educational and fun: Flash animation. Just because it's summer doesn't mean that learning has to stop, and the Flash Kids' Corner provides entertaining, simple listens written at a younger level just for those little ones starting out learning to animate.

Freelance Animation: Balancing Work and Home Life I admit it: I have a serious problem with disciplining myself to get my freelance animation work done within set work hours. I sleep when other people are awake, I'm awake when other people are asleep, and it's not unlikely for me to finish my work at 3a only to saunter off to the 24/7 grocery store for a supply run. You'd think this sounds like an ideal life, especially since I never miss a deadline on animation work - but these are bad habits that I really need to break. I never feel rested, I live on caffeine and junk food, and my weight yo-yos up and down because I exercise sporadically (although on the side, my World of Warcraft addiction probably doesn't help that). The trick is balancing my work and home life, and setting strict boundaries for both. And if I'm not that great at following my own rules...well, do as I say, not as I do.
