Nevada wildlife officials kill 540-pound black bear near Reno
RENO, Nev. - Wildlife officials were forced on Friday to shoot a 540-pound black bear that had been killing livestock the last two weeks in Washoe Valley about 25 miles south of Reno, the first nuisance bear euthanized in the area this year.
Cedar, Green rivers closed to recreation through weekend
SEATTLE - The King County sheriff's office says the Cedar and Green Rivers will remain closed to recreation through the Memorial Day weekend because they are running high and fast from melting mountain snow.
