An attempt to stage the world's biggest custard pie fight in Brighton, England, was called off at the last minute over health and safety fears after 1,200 people signed up to take part. Police said they feared innocent passers-by could be targeted by the pies.

Today's doofus is the CEO of Swiss watchmaker Romain Jerome, or anyone who buys his $300,000 "Day&Night" watch, which doesn't tell time. That's right. It's a $300,000 watch that doesn't tell time. It only tells you whether it's "day" or "night" (you know, because looking out the window is so yesterday), using a complex measurement of the Earth's gravity.
CEO Yvan Arpa said that anyone can buy a watch that tells time, but only a "truly discerning customer" can buy one that doesn't.
