Evidence of hazardous chemicals and materials found in games consoles
The Greenpeace scientific report "Playing Dirty", released this week, reveals that the world's most popular game consoles, Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3 Elite (PS3) and Microsoft Xbox 360, tested positive for hazardous chemicals and materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), phthalates, beryllium and bromine indicative of brominated flame retardants (BFRs). New EU research suggests chemicals may increase risk of breast cancer
Breast cancer has increased dramatically in Europe over the past 20 years, with a doubling of the number of cases in some countries over this time period. A recent report presented to the European Parliament suggests that by reducing our exposure to certain chemicals, the number of women who develop breast cancer could also be reduced.
