Join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for a double celebration!

This sparkling evening marks the official debut of Manfred Honeck as the PSO's ninth Music Director as well as a party for Manfred's "very special" birthday. This Golden Gala features international piano star Lang Lang performing Chopin's sublime Piano Concerto No. 2. Manfred showcases the PSO in overtures from Berlioz's lively Roman Carnival Overture and Strauss' comic opera Die Fledermaus, as well as movements from Mendelssohn's "Italian" Symphony and Haydn's Symphony No. 94, nicknamed "The Surprise." More surprises promise that this opening concert of the 2008-2009 Season will be a golden extravaganza!

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Wilkinsburg and Hill District Community Engagement Concerts

Join the PSO and your neighbors for two upcoming concerts in the community!

Wilkinsburg High School

All ticket proceeds from the concert will benefit the newly formed Wilkinsburg School District elementary band program. Over the past four years, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s performances in Wilkinsburg have raised over $45,000 that has been returned to the Wilkinsburg community for this cause. All ticket proceeds from the concert will stay in the Hill District Community, benefiting the arts program at the Hill House.  An all-audience post-concert reception will follow the concert. WQED-FM 89.3 Night at the PSO
After the concert on Friday night, stay to meet and greet with your favorite WQED-FM 89.3 personalites, PSO musicians, guest conductor Pinchas Zukerman and pianist Benjamin Hochman. Door prizes including tickets to future PSO concerts will be rewarded to several lucky attendees. Cash bar will be available.
