	from Jen Hubley My sister is in her last trimester, and every day brings a new worry. Yesterday, she was worried that she was somehow irradiating her son by using a cell phone. The week before, she was convinced that the single tuna fish sandwich she ate before the metaphorical rabbit died had pumped her baby more full of mercury than a thermometer.

Parent's Guide to Internet Safety
Most of the time, I'm able to be helpful by pointing out that babies are pretty sturdy, and that you want to take each new study with a grain of salt. Heaven help me, however, when she starts worrying about the internet. That's where I'll have to hem and haw and run away at top speeds. Keeping kids safe online is, to me, a scarier thing that any environmental worry.

At least the little guy will be too small to operate a keyboard for awhile yet. I can't even imagine what will replace blogs in parental worry. I'm sure it'll be entirely science fiction-like in every respect.
