Urgent Help Needed to Secure La Mama's Future

The La Mama theatre has occupied the iconic building in Faraday St in the heart of Carlton since 1967. Recently the Executors of the Estate, who were looking to sell the property, accepted La Mama's offer of $1.7 million however they stipulated that they had until 5pm last Monday to lock in the funds. Otherwise the building would go to Auction threatening La Mama's home.

Fortunately, with the overwhelming support from the industry and local community, La Mama were able to raise the deposit however now they have the more daunting challenge of raising additional substantial funds from stakeholders, organisations and philanthropists. Please help secure La Mama's future in the unique space that is so integral to the theatre maker's and audience's experience.

To make a donation or for more information on how you can help secure La Mama's future please contact Liz Jones on (03) 9347 6948, 0412 909 077 or liz@lamama.com.au.
