Pushes for Upgrades to California's Technology
Infrastructure
California, the most populous state, has
a governor pushing geospatial technologies forward. Last week Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger tasked his CIO, Teri Takai, to form a task force
to help agencies and departments use GIS to improve public safety.
Hopefully this task force will be an impetus for the state to finally
create and fill the GIO position. The Governor announced the effort at
a speech at GTC West California Conference on California's Future
covered by Edwin Garcia in the San Jose Mercury News.
