Congratulations to "Big Brown" and all those connected with him as his devastating performance in the Preakness  sets him up to make history in the Belmont Stakes on June 7. With his Breeding Rights already sold, the Belmont could be his final appearance, but we'll have more on that aspect in a detailed article this Saturday.

As for right now, it's a great happening and a positive and exciting development in a sport that could use some good publicity. The presence of Japanese runner "Casino Drive" as his main opponent will create a bigger media circus than Hideki Matsui's first game at Yankee Stadium. Stay tuned.

Today we have four races from Delaware Park where they are still trying to get in their first grass race of the season, having seven straight days of turf races being rained off and sent to the main track.

DELAWARE PARK Race #TWO (1:10 PM Eastern)

(# 2) ONTHE ROCKSWITHSALT - Very speedy mare showed good early foot in all of her tries at Tampa, and they were against tougher stock. Makes her first appearance at Delaware and trainer names a 10lb. apprentice, presumably to go to the top and try and hang on. Good chance she'll do it.

(# 6) Cherokee Belle - Stumbled in her latest here on April 28 against $25,000 foes. Rushed up into contention on the muddy track and paid the price late. Drops to a career low in claiming price and fits this small group well.

(# 5) Classic Flirt - Exits the same race as the second pick, so she'll also be taking a substantial drop in value. Goes second off a two-month freshening and needs to pick it up a bit to have a shot at the win.
