In celebration of Wayne Shorter’s 75th
birthday, the Wayne Shorter Quartet returns to Symphony Center for this one of a kind
performance. Wayne Shorter broke into the jazz scene with Art Blakey’s Jazz
Messengers, played in one of Miles Davis’ explosive bands, and went on to create
the famous fusion group Weather Report. His tunes have been recorded by everyone from
Stan Getz to Chick Corea. In performances with his quartet, Shorter shows his abilities
as a soft-spoken and prolific composer.
