[1] Small pump delivers big performance
Micropump's innovative I-Drive pump and drive unit meets
the challenge of providing high performance pumping with
outstanding reliability and functionality, yet takes up even
less space. OEM Engineers and machine builders will
appreciate the smooth, pulseless flows up to 5 lit/min at
maximum differential pressures up to 5.6bar and the variable
speed controller offering 0-5 VDC input signal, a 4-20mA
current loop, or manually controlled drive options.

[2] Thermal imaging for just GBP 1,990
Attract more business by adding thermal imaging to your
range of services with the ground breaking, pocket-sized
FLIR i5 infrared camera. It's designed to help you work
more efficiently and identify faults quicker. Whether it is
finding leaks in underfloor heating systems, overloaded
electrical circuits or missing insulation, the i5 will help
you find the problem faster, pinpoint the place to start and
reduce wasted effort.

[3] Download your white paper on sustainable design
DesignTalks has released a new white paper that cuts through
the issues surrounding design and sustainability and
delivers clear advice to manufacturers about how design can
be used to shape both greener products and more sustainable
working practices. Design and Sustainability - how making
a difference through design also makes good business sense,
includes expert commentary and examples of companies that
have tackled sustainability head-on and are prospering as a
result.

[4] Even more linear motion options
For anti-friction linear guidance in applications that
don't need the ultra-high precision of the HepcoMotion GV3
system, DualVee Motion Technology (DMT) is the perfect
solution. Now the range meets an even wider range of
applications thanks to increased wheel capacities, new
component sizes and a choice of performance options. Also
new and improved is the UtiliTrak linear guideway offering
higher precision and greater capacity.

[5] Sensors and Instrumentation Survey: your help requested
The Sensors and Instrumentation KTN is a technology support
network covering the whole of the UK's sensing community,
from academics and large industries, to small businesses,
research councils and government departments, covering a
broad range of technology and application areas.
We are looking for your help in completing an online survey to help
us develop our understanding of our target market and focus
our services in the best possible way. The survey is short
and will only take a minute or two to complete.
Your participation will be greatly appreciated.

[6] Winners for chemical dosing applications
Chemical dosing demands high levels of accuracy and reliable
operation. Generating a flow rate of between 4ul and 3.5
litres/min, Watson-Marlow Bredel's 520 pumps have a set
speed accuracy of 0.1% and can be calibrated by weight or
volume. Logical to programme and easy to manage, 520 pumps
provide dual analogue input to control and scale speed,
providing a drop-in replacement for piston pumps with
variable stroke control.

[7] Non dusting desiccators protect Electro-Optical systems
Brownell has introduced a range of non dusting desiccators
which protect optical and high technology systems against
humidity damage and particulate contamination. Dust
protection is prevented during vibration and shock loads.
Desiccators can be selected which prevent humidity and
condensation at high altitude and low ambient temperatures.
A range of complimentary products including polymer humidity
absorbers, humidity indicators and static desiccators
provide engineering options for maximum protection against
high humidity effects.

[8] Risk assessment calculator uses EN ISO 14121-1
Now that EN ISO 14121-1 has superseded EN 1050, Procter
Machine Guarding has redesigned its popular Risk Assessment
Calculator accordingly. Users simply enter the data and
select values for "likelihood of occurrence", "frequency of
exposure", "degree of possible harm" and the "number of
persons at risk" from look-up tables. Hazard rating numbers
and risk levels are calculated automatically for identified
hazards, with colour coding and numerical values indicating
where action should be considered.

[9] Free Thermography Webinars and "Hands-on" Seminars from Fluke
Get to know more about Thermal imaging either at your desk
or at a 'Hands on' Seminar with Fluke. Webinars (thermal
imaging seminars via the Web to your PC) spell out the great
benefits that a purpose-designed thermal imager can bring as
part of a preventative maintenance strategy. To get to know
more attend a FREE 'hands-on' Thermal Imaging Training
Seminar at various locations around the UK and gain hands-on
experience of the latest thermal imagers: no previous
experience is necessary.

[15] Precision moulder slashes energy costs by 67% with Boge
LH Plastics, a precision moulder and printer of engineering
thermoplastics, has enjoyed compressed air energy cost
savings of 67% per annum after installing a Boge SLF40
frequency controlled screw compressor. This low carbon
technology was financed with an interest free
'energy-efficiency' loan from The Carbon Trust. The Boge SLF
series combines a direct-coupled drive system with frequency
control to provide the ultimate compressor for pressure
control under variable output requirements.
