    the Rock: Menya (9:00 pm)
    new to our stages

Last night, NYC got drunk and woke up next to Menya - but this isn't just a one night stand. When given a laptop and a microphone, this new duo is certain to get even the most uptight booty a-shakin'. Formed in October 2007, the two 20-year old members of Menya have already written, produced, and mastered their debut album, "The Ol' Reacharound", completely of their own, recording vocals and synths in dorms, bedrooms, and classrooms around the city. Producer Good Goose mixes sonic stylings of electro-clash, ska, and hip-hop to get you dancing and humming along. Coco Dame raps, and sings as though she were the illegitimate child of Cyndi Lauper and LL Cool J. When they join together...well...you don't even WANT to know how ripe it will get! Welcome to Menya's world.

    More about Menya....

the Rock: the Fire and Reason (9:45 pm)
record release party...! (um... what's a record?)

Bella the former model, and performing arts school graduate, and Steve the ex- rocktronic-metal frontman mashed up their ideals to come up with something that excited them and was sadly missing from music. Steve brought the beats, and angular riffs, spliced with Bella's evocative vocals and macabre lyrics the template for The Fire and Reason was set.

The two find various combinations of live Drummers and Bassists and begin to assault the NYC music Scene. Meanwhile the demand for a CD is deafening, 20,000 plus Myspace fans must satiate their need for this electro/rock/goth/punk hybrid, that at times has been described as PJ Harvey in a three-way with Primal Scream and Trent Reznor. The band record and releases their first EP as a full band in the Summer of 2006. Reworking some of their original tracks and adding some new favorites, the CD receives rave reviews and write ups in magazines such as, Synthesis Magazine, The Big Take Over Magazine, Royal Flush Magazine, and even High Times. A successful UK tour brings the "Fire" to the HUB Festival in Liverpool, and the Legendary Dublin Castle in London and all the way back home to Crash Mansion, where they are featured on Indigo TV.

The Fire and Reason is now set to begin the next chapter in their saga. Having just finished recording with Jimmy Mod (from the band Elefant) and scoring a HOT Remix from Parisian Madman The Toxic Avenger, TFaR is entering the Electro-Dance arena with their NEW EP "Shut Up, Dance!". Receiving plenty of BLOG LOVE, the trio (including Live Bassist Lee Greenman) is now setting its sights on the WORLD! Booking Gigs in Mexico, Germany, and the UK for the summer of 2008 the FIRE is going to spread WORLD WIDE!

the Rock: Beki and the Bullets (10:30 pm)
    from Australia with love...

BEKi & THE BULLETS "Wait & See"

    INPRESS- Clem Bastow-

"The gorgeous Beki and her Bullets have gone all Cyndi Lauper/Chrissie Amphlett on your asses following their previous stadium power ballad incarnation- and 'Wait and See' is the best they've been yet.Artfully walking the tightrope between current pop trends and a more Breakfast Club-soundtrack sensibility,'Wait and See' is a sweet pop treat for the winter"

HIT MAG-HERALD SUN - Cameron adams

"This local band serve up their poppiest single to date:a harmonious collision of The Cure and The Divinyls.Catchy chorus, chiming guitars and plenty of charm.Good B-sides too, including the spiky "Gimme Gimme"

Beki and the Bullets on Myspace...

the Rock: Koko Dozo (11:15 pm)
    global funktronica, electronica fusion

SPACE IS THE PLACE: THE SCIENCE NON-FICTION OF KOKO DOZO's SUPERHEROES

Three illegal music aliens, on the lam from Earth's corporate noise plantation, joined forces to re-splice the DNA of the Cosmic Hum. To accomplish this, they forge molecules from every genre of Earth tones into Global Funktronica to feed the ears of illegal music aliens everywhere - one of whom might be dancing around at this very moment in the room next to you.

Polarity/1, multi-instrumentalist/arranger/composer/producer, makes songs without borders and beats for curved dancefloor using REAL SPACE-AGE COMPUTERS! In his laboratory cave he grinds up shards of lost cultural artifacts, barks and growls of ghosts in machines and luminescent sarcastic spaghetti. Then a pinch or two of the house special surreal spice. P/1 has four cult classic CDs of both electro-folk songs and all-instrumental electronica on subTEKst Recordings including one by Audioplasm, his duo project with Rubio. He also composes for film and for performances by Battery Dance Company and Quorum Ballet of Lisbon.

Out of this smoking brew flies Inter-Galactic Empress Amy Douglas who vaporizes the earwax of her victims with four and a half octaves worth of nuclear acid lung power. A punky songwriting funkette who sharpened her teeth on earth at downtown NYC legendary music haunts and has worked numerous legends from George Clinton to the late great Illinois Jacquet. Her most recent venture was Red Hot Mama a Hard Rock Vaudeville Show which featured wild cabaret renditions of hard rock, punk and heavy metal classics. From jazz to funk to punk, there is nothing her tongue hasn't torched.

And orbiting around this mad organism is Rubio - the multi-brained Viking Satanic wizard whose jazzed felonious funk keyboard fondlings bang vice into the spice. And his radioactive engineering eardrums tweeze the hidden nuggets in the tracks into pure sonic lightforms. He's worked with legends like Larry Larlow, Lalo Rogriguez and Cali Aleman and has two CDs of original songs on subTEKst sung in the Spanish prong of the earthly forked tongue; not to mention the Audioplasm CD and film scoring with Polarity/1.
