Shell Transitions 20 Sacramento Sites to Nakash Enterprises
May 12, 2008 -- The buyer will keep the sites Shell-branded.

HOUSTON ? Nakash Enterprises LLC acquired Shell Oil Products US?s interest in 20 branded gasoline stations in the Sacramento, Calif. area, Shell stated.

Nakash Enterprises is an affiliate of California-based real estate development and management firm Vintners Distributors Inc., which currently operates 22 Shell-branded retail locations throughout the state.

"Vintners Distributors has a strong history of growing the Shell brand in California," Bill Spurgeon, west region general manager for Shell, said in a statement. "The company's lengthy experience as a Shell operator, coupled with its extensive knowledge of the retail fuel market in northern California, will help to strengthen the Shell network in Sacramento."

All 20 locations will continue to sell fuel under the Shell brand, the company stated.

"We're proud to add these Shell retail locations to our northern California portfolio," Nick Goyal, managing member of Nakash Enterprises, said in a statement. "Shell is among the most recognized premium retail brands among consumers and all Shell gasolines stop gunky build-up on critical engine parts to help cars perform at their best.
