We'll mix it up a bit today with a pair of dirt races at Delaware Park and two turf races from Calder.

This Wednesday the Newsletter will begin updating the field and the workouts for this Saturday's Preakness stakes from Pimlico Race Course. Friday's Newsletter will feature the "Black Eyed Susan" stakes along with three other races, while on Preakness day the main event and four other contests will highlight the selections.

CALDER Race #THREE (1:40 PM Eastern)

(# 5) OTIS RIDGE - Six-time winner from Canada was claimed by Kirk Ziadie in early February for $18,000. Given 2 1/2 months off he returned with a big race on this course on April 21. Had early problems, but finished a strong second in that "optional" claimer. Trainer has good stats with second off-the-bench runners (22%). Ziadie's main rider Elvis Trujillo takes over today.

(# 1) Jake's R Wild - Nice return race in his first effort since last June. Stayed near the pace and finished evenly. Drops for his second off the bench and draws the hedge. Should move forward off his last and that would make him a win contender.

(# 3) Dug In - Good turf horse is coming off his strongest race since last summer. He's won two of his last three and in the other was over matched. Drops in price for his first try against multiple winners.

(# 6) Armament - Raised in value and sprinted off a claim, runner returns to a claimer and goes long for the new connections. Capable, but will need to pick it up to win.
