On Apr. 30, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Edward T. Schafer
spoke at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and
Policy about the currently pending farm bill. Last year,
Tufts' Hugh Joseph said that the farm bill presents an
ideal opportunity to encourage local food production while
promoting good health.

Tufts School of Dental Medicine came into existence 1899
with the acquisition of the Boston Dental College by Tufts.
By 1912, the Dental School was the twelfth largest in the
United States.

While presidential candidates John McCain and Hillary
Clinton have proposed a gas tax holiday, some economists
are calling the idea a step in the wrong direction. Tufts'
